Toronto Design Firm Doublenaut

Life After Midnight is really an amalgamation of things we dig.  A lot of the time the focus is on streetwear and street culture with that comes music and design.  We recently came across the work of Toronto-based design studio Doublenaut.  The firm was founded by twin brothers Andrew and Matt McCraken.  A lot of their focus is on creating graphics for the music industry. There work has become high sought after and their clientele has ranged from Alexisonfire and Comeback Kid to Broken Social Scene. They also work alongside many of the Canadian labels such as Arts & Crafts, Blocks Recording Club, Dine Alone Records and Distort Entertainment doing CD packaging, concert posters and web.

The thing that caught my eye was their use of space and how each element related to one other in a way that is not often executed.  They are masters of type, illustration, color and texture. Pretty much we love anything that is silk screened these days.  You could draw many comparisons between the work of design legend Stefan Sagmeister to Mike Giant.  It also resembles some of the work of one of our favourite local Winnipeg design firms Guppy Design

Doublenaut has an intimate collection of tee shirts and poster available for purchase through their site.  Hey McCraken twin, how much will a portrait tee cost us?
