Midas Touch

There are a small handful of designers that continually impress and inspire me day in and day out. One of which is Benny Gold. Benny Gold is the founding and solo member of Benny Gold Creative. Probably best known for his design of the Nike Quake (Huf) that was released in 2006 commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the 1906 Earthquake in San Francisco.

Benny and Levi were kind enough to open the studio for an interview while I was in SF. Looking around the studio it is clear to see that Benny has an unmatched ability to create timeless pieces, especially when it comes to identities and branding. His client include Highsnobiety, Transworld, Freeman, Real Skateboards, Mash, Oscar De La Hoya, Nike, DVS, and IPath all while maintaining the steady growth of his own clothing line Benny Gold.

Benny's winter offering is currently available in stores and online at bennygold.myshopify.com. The highlight piece is sure to be the Doughboy fitted inspired by Boyz in the Hood.
