1993 saw movies Jurassic Park, Mrs. Doubtfire, Cool Runnings, Schindler's List, Rookie of the Year and Adam Kelso's favourite movie The Firm tear up box offices, but does anyone remember sleeper hit Meteor Man. The movie was written, directed and starred Robert Townsend as a mild mannered schoolteacher, who becomes a superhero after he is struck by a meteor (or something along those lines). The movie featured an ensemble cast that included Bill Cosby, Eddie Griffin, James Earl Jones, Don Cheadle, Big Daddy Kane, Sinbad, Luther Vandross, Naughty By Nature, Cypress Hill, and Biz Markie.
I don't know what triggered this recollection but I clearly recall watching this movie when I was 7 years old with my sister and rewinding the final fight scene a bizzilion times and dieing of laughter. Not so funny any more but still brings a smile to my face. For some reason the street is littered with books and whatever book they touch results in their behaviour changing to match the genre. Anyways I apologize if this is one of those WTF blog posts that you can't relate to but I thought it was worth sharing.
