After Hours: Sk8tique

DGK founder and pro boarder Stevie Williams opened up shop this past October in Atlanta, Georgia.

Williams "hails from the streets of Philadelphia, and went from homeless to pro skater to entrepreneur to media mogul, and has earned the respect and acclamation from the top athletes in the sport as well as the taste makers in the industry. He picked up a skateboard at age 11 and has been making waves in mainstream and action sports media ever since" (Transworld)

The shop, Sk8tique, stocks HUF, Crooks and Castles, Rogue Status, Black Scale, Diamond, In4mation and an assortment of DGK products. The shop was a natural fit for Stevie as he has been a key player in the skate industry for years fostering DGK and has hustled his entire life.

As for the aesthetics of the store, it is what you would expect from Stevie. The store is full of character from the white brick walls to the minimal boutique feel. No room for clutter. Mini half-pipe in the back. Definitely giving that Vibe of street life and skate culture. All business.

Stevie also has another project on the go that I heard about from Benny Gold when I was in SF. Stevie and crew initiated www.steelohero.com a blog dedicated to the pioneers and hero's of skate and street wear. The logo, another masterpiece, courtesy of Benny Gold. Need I say more.
