Steve Jobs Goes On Health Leave

Steve Jobs, 53, announced today to employees that he will be taking a leave of absence until June. He is quoted as saying, "my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought". In October 2003, Jobs learned that he had a rare form of pancreatic cancer and suspicions are growing that the cancer has made an untimely return.

Washington Post - "Apple has a great opportunity in this downturn to use its large cash position to buy companies, products, or make big investments at a low-cost. These projects may be put on hold or delayed due to the distraction of Jobs' health, which is more seriously than original thought."

For the time being Chief Operating Officer, Tim Cook, will take the reigns of the technology giant. AAPL stocks dipped once again upon the news closing at 85.33 USD down from a high of 180 USD in September of this past year.

Best wishes go to Jobs and family during this time.
